Student Challenge

Do you have a great idea to tackle climate change in your community?
Can you create a two-minute video pitch of your idea?
Submit an entry for the green-Y Student Challenge for a chance to win up to THB 100,000 to implement your idea. Three prizes will be awarded:
 

·       First Prize:        THB 100,000 

·       Second Prize:  THB  50,000 

·       Third Prize:      THB  25,000 

 

The prizes are kindly sponsored by AECOM.

 

The first green-Y event to be held at the Conrad Hotel in Bangkok on June 11 will feature short climate change talks, presentations and multimedia exhibits in English and Thai by thinkers, experts, spiritual leaders and celebrities. The Student Challenge to be held as part of the event is open to students from environmental clubs at the university level.  The top three entries will also be asked to present their concepts at the event.

 

How to apply:

Prepare a two-minute video pitch demonstrating your idea to answer the question:

 

“The negative impacts of climate change are affecting communities all across Asia. Everyday lives and livelihoods are being disrupted by sea level rise, severe storms, regular flooding, heat waves and frequent droughts.

 

There are many ways you can address climate change. If you had THB100,000 how would you tackle climate change in your community?”

 

1.       Entries will be in the form of a two-minute videos provided in English or Thai.

2.       Entries should be submitted with short bio(s) of individual or teams to be included in the email.

3.       Students are encouraged to be creative with their entries using different presentation styles, such as  plays, music,                poems, animations, etc.

4.       Deadline for entries is June 8, 2016 at 5 p.m. Bangkok time.

Eligibility criteria:

1.       Students must be at least 18 years of age and currently enrolled in an educational program at the university level.

2.       Students may submit entries individually or as groups with their professors/teachers or with any organizations in                    their community.
